Why Recoil Matters

Why Recoil Matters…

Recoil is a familiar problem that all shooters have to deal with to some degree. For those who shoot very heavy recoiling rifles and shotguns, recoil can cause pain and discomfort in just a few shots and can quickly reduce your accuracy and your desire to continue shooting. For sporting shotguns, it can pound away on your shoulder during a long day of skeet or sporting clays or bird hunting. While each shot may not feel that bad, after 50-100 shots, you are feeling it. Even if you are not in pain, it is taking its toll on your endurance and concentration and effecting how well you hit your target. For practical rifle, handgun and shotgun shooters who want the maximum in speed and accuracy, recoil is something that must be tamed in every way possible in order to win. Even with very light recoiling .22 rifles which certainly don’t hurt to shoot, the gun still moves when you shoot it and there are ways to minimize that. Even if the gun just barely moves off of its target, it slows the follow-up shot. If the gun can be kept from moving off-target, the speed, accuracy and sheer shooting pleasure can be increased. For shooters who to shoot a lot, want to shoot the best they possibly can, and want to enjoy every minute of it, recoil reduction just makes sense. Parts and accessories that can reduce recoil include recoil pads on the shooter and the gun, weights and weighted parts, buffers, recoil reducers, compensators, muzzle brakes and others. We will discuss these options as well as some specific products in the coming months. At NoKick.com we will provide shooters with the most comprehensive selection of recoil reducing parts and accessories available anywhere to meet all of your shooting needs.
